It has been a while since the global pandemic has struck, but a lot of us are still stuck in our home due to first the lockdown and now the rising number of cases. We don’t know for how long we are going to stay indoors. Students, homemakers, a lot of working parents, and older siblings who have been asked to work from home – everyone is getting frustrated with the monotonous lifestyle at home.
There is nothing much left to do at home except watching movies or playing online games. And how much TV will one watch anyway?
So, if you too are getting bored, here are some fun indoor games that the whole family can enjoy together. Ask your millennial siblings and parents – they will tell you basis their childhood memories how much fun these games used to be during the summer vacations at school!
DUMB CHARADES – Seems like the coolest generation – the GenZ is unaware of the amazing fun called – Dumb Charades! There’s nothing dumb about this game, though! It is not just a fun game, but it is one of the easiest games to play with your family. This is how you play it –
Everyone thinks of the funniest, weirdest, and most challenging to act movie names, write them down on a paper and put it in a bowl. Now one by one, each family member comes in front, picks the chit, and has to act out the name of the movie in a way that others understand. You can make it competitive by dividing yourselves into teams, keeping score. But competition or no competition, a lot of giggles and silly laughter is guaranteed.
TAMBOLA – I don’t think we need to introduce this game, eh. This lockdown has made everyone play Ludo and Tambola at least once – either online or at home, using tickets and boards. This game is addictive! Just like a bingo. Once you start playing tambola, you don’t want to stop! There is no better game than tombola when it comes to killing boredom. It is such a fun game and loved by all ages.
NAME, PLACE, ANIMAL, THING – Aal the beautiful game that millennials and even Gen X have played during the free class at school! Put all alphabets in chits in a bowl. Pick the chit, and whichever alphabet appears, everyone has to write one Name (of human, duh), one Place, one Object, and one Animal starting with that alphabet. Now the fun of this game is that everyone had their scoring system and their own rules. Plus, it is not just a time pass game. It also helps increase knowledge at times! So go ahead, grab a paper and pencil, divide them into 4 columns and START!
Then, of course, you have other more common games like carrom, quiz, Monopoly, Game of Life, Snakes and Ladders, etc. Whatever you choose, the aim is to bond and have fun with the family!
